Spiritual Faith and Healing

When reading gospel accounts of Jesus in the Bible, one finds that He healed people of physical illnesses. He also gave His disciples the ability to continue with this process.

Spiritual faith and healing are believed to be divine. Faith healing, when used along with medicine or the body's healing process, has been proven to work. Some scholars have appraised it as not competent. They have voiced their concerns that it could be used without conventional medical care, to the detriment of the user.

Your body is made by God's creative hand. You can take preventative measures to keep your body healthy. Simply by quitting smoking, stopping gluttony, avoiding laziness, getting into physical shape, and properly dieting you can become healthier. The early church understood these measures, and wherever Christian witness were, physical healing was also. The Roman Catholic Church honors saints, many were celebrated as healers. These faith healings often involved the "laying on of hands". Many churches still believe in "faith healings". Christian Science members claim that they are free to choose prayer or medication in the treatment of health problems. Pentecostalism drew participants from the Holiness movement in America, many already believed in divine healing. Their evangelist healers have TV shows and wide audiences. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints members claim to be the true and restored Church of Jesus Christ. They claim to hold the true priesthood of God, and through it perform blessing of health. The Islam religion feels that unless God (Allah) wants you to be healed, you won't be, even with medical treatment.

Biblical healing methods vary now from church to church. They include healing prayers, laying on of hands, anointing with oil by praying elders, and the spoken word. Spiritual faith helps one succeed at keeping your body healthy.
